Exeter, Ca – The Center for Art, Culture, and History—Exeter (CACHE) will be hosting a duo art exhibition and musical performance with Heidi Steinman and Aaron Gomes titled Sights and Sounds. The exhibit will be on display from July 12 through September 28, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and will include an acoustic set with both artists.
Steinman was born and raised in Visalia, California, and discovered her love for painting in the first grade. She took her first oil painting class in 2003 at Redwood High School and additional classes at the College of the Sequoias. In spite of not pursuing a formal degree, she has been working diligently to hone her craft and express herself in her selected medium.
Her work reflects the natural world in color-rich paintings that are inspired by her hometown and nature walks. The rewarding process of creating art is also a way for her to find healing and solace and to connect with God.
Gomes’s minimalist painted line art utilizes black India ink on a white gesso background to produce a clean, stark appearance. This “language of lines” is then coupled with stringed instrument performances that create a multisensory experience for the audience. He works to achieve a balance between the visual and musical compositions to communicate a peaceful state of mind.
All artwork will be on sale during the length of the exhibition. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit our website at www.cach-exeter.org.
